Attention Republican Party:

This is your mission… if you choose to accept it.

You have temporarily been granted tremendous power by the American people.

You just won sweeping elections on the municipal, state, and federal level this past November.

Looking at these election results, it becomes immediately obvious that this was not a vote against incumbents.

This was not a vote against Congressional gridlock.

The simple fact is that incumbent Republicans fared very well in this past election.

This past election was specifically a vote AGAINST the Democratic Party’s agenda.

You have just been given a majority control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

You were not granted this historic level of political support because you inspired anyone.

You are not necessarily held in high regard by the American people.

You have NOT been sent to Washington D.C. to “get along”.

You have been sent to our nation’s capital by the American people with a simple mission.

You must stop the progressive liberal agenda.

The people whom you represent are not going to be patient with you for very long.

This message, and perhaps the Republican Party itself, will self destruct in 24 months.

 

Can you imagine if there was one extra scene at the end of Cinderella? Imagine how you would feel if Cinderella had revealed at the end of the story that she had intimate relations with the prince at the ball that evening and then developed significant pelvic pain with vaginal discharge requiring gynecological intervention. Nobody wants a fairy tale that ends like that. It ruins the whole story. This is precisely what many of us are struggling with right now regarding Barack Obama’s presidency. His election was a fairy tale. I did not vote for him because of his politics, but I was filled with pride in our country that we voted to put his family into our White House, knowing the history that this house was built by slaves. That is a powerful story. This was a message to people around the world that anything is possible and that racism is something that can be overcome. But after the NSA spying scandal, the IRS abuse scandal, the lies associated with Benghazi, and the failure of Obamacare, it is time to face the ugly truth about this fairy tale… Cinderella has chlamydia.

Our culture inundates us with messages that the ends always justifies the means. It constantly tells us that when our own survival is threatened and our morality becomes an obstruction, then it is our morality that must be sacrificed. Our heroes have become Walter White from “Breaking Bad”, Jack Bauer from “24”, and Rick Grimes from “Walking Dead”. The message has now been cemented into our brains: Sometimes good people have to become bad in order to survive.

It is within this context that we now view the torture of terrorist suspects behind the scenes at the CIA. Many argue that if we want to survive in today’s world that we are going to have to toughen up and do things that may make us uncomfortable. We believe that we can’t be a frightened victim cowering behind the door of our enemy… but that we have to transform ourselves into the “one who knocks”.

My heroes are not the endless parade of soulless survivors who continue to be displayed on our television screens. My heroes are still the United States soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy in World War II. These brave soldiers did not believe in survival just for survival’s sake. They believed in a greater good which was our common morality. They knowingly sacrificed their own lives in an attempt to rid the world of evil.

Many people in our culture today would simply look at these soldiers as “fools” because they did not do whatever it took to survive. They would not measure up in our “last man standing” rule of moral relativism.

It is still not too late for the United States to turn things around. We have to take a good hard look at ourselves in the mirror and decide who we want to be as a nation going forward. But as our television anti-heroes have already taught us, once you start “breaking bad”… it is very hard to go back.

A case is about to be presented to the Supreme Court alleging that the Affordable Care Act only allows healthcare subsidies to be legally paid to individuals who acquire their insurance through the sixteen state exchanges. The current administration states that the act of excluding federal exchanges in the subsidy program was a “typo” and was not the true intention of the law.

Most people agree that if the federal exchanges are not allowed access to government subsidies, then insurance via Healthcare.gov will quickly go into a “death spiral”. However, one of the main architects of the law named Jonathan Gruber has already been caught on video boasting that this exclusion of federal subsidies was done on purpose as an incentive to force states politically into creating their own exchanges. Gruber is the same person being seen in videos recently admitting that lies were repeatedly told in order to pass the Affordable Care Act because of the “stupidity” of the American people.

When Obamacare falls completely apart over the next two years, the media and the Democratic Party will try to convince the uninformed massses that the healthcare law was destroyed by an angry Republican majority and a biased Supreme Court. Anyone who believes this political “spin” is just as stupid and uninformed as Jonathan Gruber thinks you are. Don’t let any of this ridiculous propaganda confuse you. The passage of this law included a poisoned pill.  The final “death blow” to the terminally flawed Affordable Care Act will be due to the actions of the loud-mouthed arrogant elitist pictured in this post.

“Where were you?” It was a question that haunted many of the people of Nazi Germany for the rest of their lives: “How could you just stand around and allow other human beings to be placed into concentration camps?” No explanation was ever good enough.

It is very likely that our current generation will someday be presented with a series of questions that will haunt us for the rest of our lives as well: “Where were you when the United States stopped passing budgets and started printing 70 billion dollars per month out of thin air just to pay it’s bills? Where were you when your government started intentionally devaluing the world’s reserve currency which eventually resulted in global economic collapse? Where you when the dollar suddenly became worthless and all those people could not even feed themselves anymore?”

“Where were you?”

The Democratic Party’s Guide to Problem Solving:

Step 1) Point out that 38 million Americans are uninsured.
Step 2) Pass a healthcare law that knocks 6 million additional people off their insurance.
Step 3) Set up a healthcare exchange that reportedly insures 6 million people.
Step 4) Declare victory.
